In the following article, I hope to share with you valuable resources to help you prepare for the AP Biology Exam. This article will serve useful to teachers, but it is written for you — the student. This is No Cure All I want to make it clear up front that there is no short cut for hard work.
An example would be water in a bucket not spilling if the bucket is swung around. What does this stand for? Revolution is an object rotating on an external axis. A good example is Earth revolving around the sun. Since the ladybug, like the can, moves in a circle, there must be force on it.
What exerts this force? The reason for this has to do with the… spin of the Earth. If Earth rotated more slowly about its axis, your weight would… increase. While rotational speed is the of the speed at which an object rotates around something or itself, tangential speed is directly proportional to rotational speed.
What is the centripetal force? What is the tension in the rope? The net force on the car… is directed toward the center of the curve.
A straight line about which rotation takes place is called an axis.
The rotational speed of a wheel is defined as the number of rotations it makes in a unit of time. Any force that causes an object to move in a circular path is called a centripetal force. When you whirl a can on the end of a string, the centripetal force on the can is actually the pull of the string of the can.
Where does a ladybug sitting on a rotating record have the greatest linear speed? What can you say about the rotational speed of the ladybug if she were to sit on the outside edge compared to the middle of the record. Linear speed is the distance per unit of time.
Rotational speed is the number of rotations per unit of time. If two ladybugs are sitting on a rotating record, the ladybug on the outside of the record has a faster linear speed in comparison to the ladybug on the inside.
However, both ladybugs will have the same rotational speed.
The ladybug on the outside will be faster because the farther away you stand from the axis on a rotating platform, the faster you move.
If the ladybug were to stand in the middle of the record, the ladybug would not move. Find the tension in the rope. Calculate the tension in the rope. Rotation is the motion of an object turning about an axis located within an object.
An example of rotation is a merry-go-round in which the vehicles rotate around the center. Tangential speed depends on rotational speed and the distance from the axis of rotation. An example of centripetal force is the force exerted on whirling can on a string that is revolving around a center point.
Centripetal force keeps an object in motion. Two types of circular motion are rotation and revolution. The force directed toward a fixed center that causes an object to follow a circular path.
Centrifugal force is an effect of rotation. It is not part of an interaction and therefore it cannot be a true force.May 21, · Section 1: What is the difference between RNA and DNA? RNA is single stranded while DNA is Double, RNA contains the sugar ribose while DNA contains the sugar deoxy-ribose, and RNA has Uracil instead of Thymine.
Explain how RNA is made during transcription? The DNA unwinds and separated the DNA strands, RNA . Student Study Guide for Campbell's Biology Paperback – January, Student Study Guide for Biology Neil A.
